Antique fabric squares & dots
The gift of the artist isn’t what they see, but what they can make others feel. Im pretty sure someone more profound than myself strung those words together long before I came to this planet. They still hold true. When I come across old old fabric that lights up my imagination I hold onto it.. touch it..look at it.. smell it.. trying to reconnect with what ever it inspired to begin with. This is one of those pieces. I left the fun little tag and all selvedge or ugly spots. This is antique cotton, the feel of it is unreal, not like our cottons today. The colors are so rich and defined. This piece would be great for a small special project. Some ideas: bow tie, pocket square to match, long tie, Peter Pan collar, head cover, neck scarf. On the art side of it you can use this in your junk journaling or multi media work. All the ugly spots become beauty again.
