I can not say enough about this piece. The understated elegance, the craftsmanship. The detail enflames my imagination. Was it worn to an elegant dinner? Or perhaps a ladies gathering? Maybe it was a gift , an anniversary or birthday? The creamy white beads are antique African trade beads, I think. They could also be gooseberry beads or even antique Venetian glass beads. My research took me to many places without any real solid answers. The creamy white beads are so different, alive. They give this piece dimension. I am near certain this piece was hand made by a skilled crafts person. It’s truly exquisite. The design is timeless elegance that would be beautiful any way you styled it.
